What happens when you combine two individuals with a flair for performance, a passion for showcasing talent, and a love for the spotlight? You get Yansun and Carmen's unforgettable retro disco wedding: a night that pulsed with energy, creativity, and pure joy. These dynamic souls, though rooted in the medical field, dared to dream up a retro extravaganza that perfectly captured their unique chemistry. Yansun, a doctor who moonlights as a video creator and locking dance enthusiast, and Carmen, a psychology counselor who expresses herself through pole dancing, didn't just plan a wedding. They choreographed an extraordinary celebration of love, talent, and shared passion.
This talented couple of ours began their love story in Australia during their university days. When they approached us with their vision of creating not just a wedding but a full-blown celebration where guests could truly let loose, we knew the retro-disco theme would be perfect. We dove headfirst into creating their retro wonderland, complete with disco ball invitations, vinyl record stationery, and striking neon lights that transformed the venue into a blast from the past.
Thanks to the inspiration by the father of the bride, we created an interactive experience where guests received mini photo albums as wedding favors on that day. Aside from getting to collect instant photos from the themed photo booths, they were also creative journaling counters with materials for everyone to use to create the collage aesthetic for their personal albums. These created a perfect blend of nostalgia and creativity that had everyone excited to create their own unique keepsake from the celebration.
Even before the grand entrance of the hall was opened, the guests were already entertained not just with activities during the cocktail hours, but also with unique personalized flavours of beverages chosen by the couple. The scenes in the waiting hall came alive with unique touches featuring a vintage phone booth for voice messages, vinyl records to write well wishes, and our crew armed with Instax cameras capturing every magical moment while guests sipped on specially curated cocktails.
The real show began at dinner when Carmen and Yansun kicked things off with a sensual couple's dance that had everyone in the room intrigued. What followed was a parade of talents including heartfelt poetry readings, an epic dance-off, and Yansun's show-stopping solo performance. Our charismatic emcee Kevin kept the energy high, leading up to an explosive after-party where DJ Julian had everyone on their feet.
Looking around the dance floor that night, watching guests show off their grooviest moves under the disco lights, our team couldn't help but smile. This absolutely wasn't just another wedding! It was a celebration that broke all the rules in the best possible way. Carmen and Yansun showed us that when you stay true to who you are and what you love, magic happens. And on that disco-lit dance floor, surrounded by friends and family, magic was definitely in the air that night.
