At the Heart of it All
Today’s entry is on a colourful, fun-filled retro vibes wedding of our couple Garrick and Mel. It’s always extra fun when we get to work with families of our very own colleagues in the wedding industry. Mel is the sister to our esteemed vendor Emcee, Shing Queen, and it was a joy for us to work with as she and Garrick brought their very own unique flair to the celebration.
With a backdrop of vibrant colours and playful details, their wedding was a jubilant affair that radiated pure joy and love. From the outset, it was evident that Garrick and Mel wanted their wedding to be a fun occasion, brimming with spontaneity and devoid of formality. Drawing inspiration from their love for all things retro and colourful, the couple envisioned a celebration that would reflect their personalities and shared passions.
Embracing the couple's vision, the decor team was given full creative freedom to craft a concept that would bring their colourful, carefully curated Pinterest mood board to life. The result was a feast for the senses, with whimsical decorations and creative touches adorning every corner of the venue.
But beyond the vibrant decor and lively atmosphere, it was the personal details that truly made Garrick and Mel's wedding unforgettable. The couple also had their cat, Koci, joining them alongside their closest family members as the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and ring bearers. Mel made her entrance to the strains of her favourite tune of the “Golden Hour”, and it was a touching moment that kickstarted the tone for the beautiful evening ahead.
With a family boasting a myriad of talents, including dancers and singers—highlighted by Mel's brother, a well-known local artist—the evening was filled with enchanting performances and heartfelt moments. Garrick, ever the romantic, surprised Mel with thoughtful gestures throughout the celebration. From secretly changing their first dance song to Mel's favourite Disney tune, "I See the Light," to adding sweet Disney quotes to the table decorations, this groom definitely knows how to carve the widest smiles on his bride’s face.
The couple's first dance began as a slow, romantic melody before seamlessly transitioning into an upbeat mashup, showcasing their infectious energy and Mel's impressive dance skills that put us all in absolute admiration. What a great dancer she is!
Guests and the celebrated couple were all continued to be swept up in the joyous celebration, and the party was just getting started! Everyone present danced the night away to the sounds of karaoke and live music. From classic hits to modern favourites, the dance floor was a whirlwind of laughter and love, with Garrick and Mel at the heart of it all.
