Seasons of Twilight

by Eunice

“Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when
I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer”.

As the evening reached its finest hours, the sun started setting and the twilight seeped through the glass panels, casting an incandescent amber glow over the grounds of the fairylitted glass house, setting a perfect ambience for the dream wedding Cin Dee has always longed for beneath the twinkling stars.

Finally, was the word that perpetually echoed the hall in waves throughout the evening as long-time close peers and beloved ones of Wei Keat and Cin Dee were exchanging beautiful praises and sharing hopes and dreams over the jubliant and blessed celebration of two high school sweehearts who made a life-long promise to one another for the longest time.

Having braved through many seasons and walks of life since the pioneering years of courtship in schooling days and more than a decade of commitment till this very day they pledged upon their vows, it truly is a moving story and testament of love and loyalty, far beyond our depths of comprehension.

This celebration of union holds so much more than what the naked eye beholds. For the absolutely charming and feisty bride who have always sung about having a twilight fairytale of her own, it was purpose-driven and packed with nuance as deciding on this chapter and reaching such a milestone really came through as a twilight moment for them, and indeed a gloriously beautiful one. Wei Keat and Cin Dee also chose to dress their reception with two symbolic colours of blue and pink, an allusion to represent both the coming together of man and woman.

As a throng of blithe and highly-spirited company chatted the night away with beaming smiles and boisterous, rich and unrestrained laughter, the evening wouldn’t have been completed without a sweet spread of enticing and palatable desserts, baked by Cin Dee’s sister who co-owns a boutique patissierie with the bride herself. All the eye-pleasingly, delectable sweet treats were swept off the table within seconds and was the talk of the night.

To add to the charm of the already perfected ambience, Cin Dee wanted her adorable pooch, Nana, a pure fuzzball of delight to walk down the aisle and be a part of this immensely signficant family occasion. It was heartwarming in every sense and undoubtedly sent trickles of fuzzy love throughout everyone present on that special day.

It was grace. It was magic. It was love. It was a plethora of all things beautiful.

At the end of the day, as the evening dimmed into a starry night of a thousand lights, they looked into each other’s eyes with an empowering gaze, knowing that this journey and awaiting was worth every day of their lives.

“I have died everyday
waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
your heart to me
I have loved you
for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more”.
